Title: Panel – Reining in Power Consumption Trends for Next Generation Optical Networking

Type: Panel Discussion

Description:

The current trajectory of the portion of data center power allocated to networking is unsustainable for next generation data centers supporting a variety of applications including AI/ML. Join this session to hear OIF industry experts discuss OIF's newest project "Energy Efficient Interfaces Framework Project" which explores a variety of use cases as well as possible solutions to address this worrying trend. This complicated project is a joint effort across multiple OIF Physical & Link Layer Working Group tracks and the OIF's Physical Layer Users Group which is identifying the various applications to address.
